A legacy of Excellence
Our Story
1972
Michael Bouboulis, an immigrant from Chios, Greece, founded a residential painting company in Arlington,MA, operating from his family’s station wagon.
1979
As the business expanded into commercial projects, Chios Painting and Contracting was officially established.
1980
Michael’s sons, Jimmy and Stefanos, joined the family business, securing their first government contracts.
1982
Chios Painting and Contracting was awarded its first contract with the United States Postal Service—a partnership that continues to this day.
1984
Michael retired, passing leadership to his sons. Under their guidance, the company expanded its client base to include GSA, the Army, Navy, and Air Force, completing projects across New England.
1992
With the business growing beyond painting, Homer Contracting Inc. was founded to reflect its evolution into a full-service general contracting firm.
2004
Following Jimmy’s passing, Stefanos carried the company forward, continuing to build upon its strong foundation.
2011
Mike and George joined the business, marking the arrival of the third generation of Bouboulis family leadership in the construction industry.
2014
Homer Contracting embarked on a period of rapid expansion, broadening its expertise in carpentry, doors, windows, masonry, and waterproofing, alongside its core painting services.
2025
Today, Homer Contracting is recognized as one of New England’s premier general contractors, completing numerous projects each year for local, state, and federal agencies, as well as private developments.
